Afghan Association Paiwand announces it new project for young unaccompanied minors. The project starts from March 2008

The project is aimed at provision of supported housing for young people aged between 16 – 18 years old (in some cases from 15 years old); relieving clients’ housing problems; and to assist them towards integration into mainstream life and realisation of their skills potential and earning capacities.

Services offered by this project will include provision of accommodation, emotional support, encouragement of clients to engage in voluntary work/daily activities, creation of conducive home environment for development of their self-esteem; and provision of guidance and advice for development of their vocational skills for enhancement of their earning capacities. Other activities will include networking with local authorities and designated agencies for effective service delivery.

A capacity building component consisting of structured training courses, homework club and sport activities would be a vital part of our development plan to provide clients with the opportunity to gain lifelong skills.
